Explicit Consent Notice on the Processing and Transfer Abroad of Personal Data

Why We Ask for Explicit Consent

Our website and volunteer area run on Google's cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud / Firebase). Our application servers are in the Netherlands; our database and the storage holding uploaded files are in data centres in the United States. The personal data you send through this site is therefore transferred outside Türkiye and stored there.

Article 9 of Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data requires that data subjects be informed about transfers abroad and that their explicit consent be obtained. This notice sets out the scope of that transfer and asks for your consent.

Data Covered by Your Consent

Your consent covers only the data you choose to send us through this site, together with the technical records kept to keep that data secure:

• Contact form: your name, e-mail address, telephone number (optional), subject and message, along with the IP address, browser information and submission time recorded with it.
• Volunteer application and volunteer account: name, e-mail address, telephone number, year of birth, education and occupation, city of residence, the volunteering areas you are interested in, your availability, the skills you list, alternative contact details and any documents you upload.
• Information about your disability status, if you choose to share it in the volunteer form. Under Article 6 of the Law this is special category personal data; it is processed and transferred only with your explicit consent.
• Optional usage measurement: the randomly generated visitor number created only if you consent on the cookie banner, together with the pages and events you view.

Recipients and Countries

• Google Cloud / Firebase (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC): hosting, database and file storage. The application server is in the Netherlands; the database and uploaded files are in the United States.
• Firebase Authentication: verification of e-mail address and password when signing in to the admin panel and the volunteer area. Operated on Google infrastructure in the United States.
• Google Analytics 4: only if you have consented to usage measurement. The measurement signal is not sent from your browser directly; it reaches our own server, which forwards it to Google.
• Embedded content: Google Maps on the contact page, YouTube on the gallery page and FlipHTML5 on the e-magazine page. When you view this content your browser connects directly to the provider, and your IP address and browser information are sent to it.

Purpose of the Transfer

• Recording and answering your requests, questions and applications,
• Assessing volunteer applications and running volunteering processes,
• Keeping the website running and secure, preventing abuse and fixing technical faults,
• Producing aggregate statistics about use of the site, if you consent.

What If You Do Not Consent?

You are not obliged to give consent, and withholding it does not prevent you from benefiting from the association's services. You can also reach us without using the forms, by writing to beyazay@beyazay.org.tr or to the postal address below.

Declining usage measurement does not affect any function of the site; if you decline, no measurement identifier is created on your device.

Withdrawing Your Consent

You may withdraw your consent at any time without giving a reason, by writing to beyazay@beyazay.org.tr or to the postal address below.

You can also withdraw your consent to usage measurement by deleting the beyazay-analytics-consent and beyazay-mid records in your browser settings; the site will then ask for your choice again.

Withdrawal takes effect for the future: from then on your data is no longer processed or transferred on the basis of this consent and, unless another legal ground requires it to be kept, it is deleted or anonymised.

Retention periods, processing purposes and your rights under Article 11 of the Law are explained in detail in the Personal Data Protection Notice. You can submit requests concerning your rights, together with information verifying your identity, through the contact channels below.

Declaration of Consent

I give my explicit consent to my personal data described above being processed for the stated purposes and transferred to servers in the Netherlands and the United States over the Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure; and, where I choose to share it in the volunteer form, to my special category data concerning my disability status being processed and transferred within the same scope.

This consent is obtained when you tick the consent box on the forms on this site and submit the form, or, for usage measurement, when you accept on the cookie banner. If you do not submit the form or do not tick the box, no data of yours is processed under this notice.
