Accessibility Guide
This website and its accessibility menu fully conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AAA. Below you will find how to use the features and our conformance statement.
Accessibility Menu
The accessibility button in the bottom left corner of the screen lets you adjust the appearance to suit your needs. You can also open the menu with the keyboard and close it with Esc .

| Text size | Increases or decreases all text on the site in steps between 87.5% and 150%. |
| High contrast | Sets a black background, white text and yellow links to increase contrast. Body links stay underlined as well as coloured. |
| Underline links | Underlines all links (including menus and breadcrumbs); also works together with high contrast. |
| Readable text spacing | Opens up letter, word and line spacing to make dense text easier to follow. |
| Reduce motion | Turns off movement and transition effects, reducing dizziness and distraction. |
| Grayscale | Shows the page in shades of grey, reducing visual load for colour-sensitive users. |
| Large cursor | Makes the mouse pointer noticeably larger so it is easier to follow on screen. |
| Narrow text column | Narrows the main text column to about 55 characters to make lines easier to follow. |
Your settings are stored in your browser and applied as soon as the page opens on your next visit. You can restore everything with the Reset settings button in the menu.
Keyboard Navigation
The site can be used entirely with a keyboard. The element you focus on is marked with a visible outline.
- Tab
- Moves to the next link, button or form field.
- Shift + Tab
- Returns to the previous element.
- Enter
- Opens the focused link or activates the focused button.
- Space
- Activates the focused button and toggle switches.
- Esc
- Closes the open accessibility menu, language menu or mobile menu and returns focus to the related button.
- Arrow keys
- Move between options in the language menu; can also scroll the page.
The first time you press Tab after the page opens, the “Skip to content” link appears. It takes you straight to the page content without stepping through the menu.
Screen Reader Support
The site is built to work with commonly used screen readers:
- NVDA — Windows
- JAWS — Windows
- VoiceOver — macOS · iOS
- TalkBack — Android
The page language is declared correctly, so screen readers pronounce the text properly. Headings follow an ordered structure, images carry alternative text, and sections such as menus and tables are labelled so screen readers can recognise them.
Your System Preferences
If you have enabled “reduce motion” in your operating system, the site detects this automatically and turns animations off. The content also reflows without overflowing when you zoom in with your browser.
Language Options
The site is available in Turkish, English, Arabic and Russian. You can choose the language from the menu at the top of the page; when Arabic is selected the layout flips to right-to-left and screen readers read the text in the correct language.
Glossary and Abbreviations
Unusual words and abbreviations used on the site are explained below. If you meet a term you do not know, check this list or ask us.
- WCAG
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines — the international criteria published by the W3C for making websites accessible.
- AAA
- The highest WCAG conformance level. It includes Level A and AA plus stricter contrast, target size and reading criteria.
- IBAN
- International Bank Account Number — used as the account number on the donation page.
- EFT
- Electronic Funds Transfer — an electronic money transfer between banks.
- Statute
- The official document that sets out how the association is organised and run. A plain-language summary appears at the top of the statute page.
- Public-benefit association
- An association granted special status because the state recognises its work as serving the public interest.
- Screen reader
- Software that reads on-screen text aloud or converts it to Braille (e.g. NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
- Focus
- The button, link or form field that is active when you navigate with the keyboard. On this site it is shown with a thick outline.
Conformance Statement
This website and its accessibility menu fully conform to WCAG 2.2 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) Levels A, AA and AAA. The main Level AAA criteria that are met are summarised below.
Level AAA criteria that are met (summary)
- 1.3.6 Identify Purpose — form fields are labelled with their autocomplete purpose.
- 1.4.6 Contrast (Enhanced) — body text, links and buttons have a contrast ratio of at least 7:1; a high-contrast mode is also available.
- 1.4.8 Visual Presentation — text size, line and letter spacing, colours and text column width can be adjusted from the accessibility menu; text is not justified.
- 1.4.9 Images of Text (No Exception) — meaningful text is not presented as an image; logos and icons have appropriate alternative text.
- 2.1.3 Keyboard (No Exception) — every function can be operated with the keyboard alone; menus support focus trapping and Escape.
- 2.2.3 No Timing and 2.2.6 Timeouts — there is no time limit for visitors and no timeout that causes data loss.
- 2.3.3 Animation from Interactions — motion and transition effects can be switched off from the menu or through your operating system setting.
- 2.4.8 Location — every page shows a breadcrumb trail; the current page is indicated.
- 2.4.9 Link Purpose (Link Only) — link names describe their destination on their own, and links that open in a new tab are announced to screen readers.
- 2.4.10 Section Headings — content is organised with a sequential heading structure.
- 2.4.13 Focus Appearance — keyboard focus is shown with a thick double ring that stays visible on light and dark backgrounds.
- 2.5.5 Target Size (Enhanced) — buttons, menu items and icon links have a touch target of at least 44 × 44 pixels.
- 3.1.3 Unusual Words and 3.1.4 Abbreviations — terms and abbreviations are explained in the glossary on this guide.
- 3.1.5 Reading Level — interface text uses plain language; a plain-language summary is provided for the legal statute.
- 3.2.5 Change on Request — content never changes on its own; every change, including the language switch, happens at the user's request.
- 3.3.5 Help — contextual help is provided on forms, together with this accessibility guide.
- 3.3.9 Accessible Authentication (Enhanced) — visitors do not need to sign in, and no puzzle or cognitive test is required at any point.
Scope note
Conformance covers the pages published on this site and the accessibility menu. Gallery links open on third-party sites such as YouTube; the accessibility of those platforms' own content is their responsibility. You can request sign language, audio description or a text alternative through our contact channels.
This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by the association on 1 August 2026, using contrast measurements, keyboard navigation, focus management and screen reader testing.
