It is an institution of the Turkish Beyazay Association, which has defined its field of service as the education of people with disabilities and works within that scope.
Seeing lack of education as the greatest barrier facing people with disabilities, Beyazay believes that to this day people with disabilities have been approached with prejudices such as that they cannot be educated, cannot take part in social and working life, or cannot succeed because of their physical or mental differences — and that as a result individuals with disabilities have been left outside life, living alone at home and dependent on others.
If as a society we move away from these prejudices, treat people with disabilities as equals in every field and give them opportunity, we will open the doors of a brand-new world for them. For they are not outside life because they have a disability, but because they lack education. For this reason the Turkish Beyazay Association, under the name Beyazay Schools, meets the educational needs of people with disabilities with a specialist teaching staff and more than 160 students, and aims to raise quality in this field as an exemplary institution.
