Campaign Excitement in Aksaray

The ‘Movement to Overcome’ campaign, launched by the Turkish Beyazay Association, run under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and aiming to make overcoming — by moving together with people with disabilities — a way of life, was also held in Aksaray.

The programme, with many games stands set up in the city square, was attended by the Governor of Aksaray Şeref Ataklı, Mayor Haluk Şahin Yazgı, Provincial Police Chief Mehmet Aslan, Garrison Commander Colonel Levent Ölmez, the President of the Turkish Beyazay Association Lokman Ayva and many people with and without disabilities. Members of the protocol toured the stands and took part in games including bocce.

The President of the Turkish Beyazay Association, Lokman Ayva, spoke about what they want to overcome: ” We want to overcome prejudice. We want to overcome the prejudices that exclude one another, that leave us outside the sphere of education, outside social life, friendship, companionship, mutual help and solidarity. How will we overcome them? We will come together. We will hold useful events and useful activities together, and we will do sport together.”
