"Friends gathered in front of their cameras and held an online meeting. The question was this: How can we articulate the relationship between Teknofest, Beyazay, and people with disabilities—and the meaning of Teknofest to us—in a way that speaks for itself without needing many words? Now, with their permission, I would like to present the ideas they generated. I extend my heartfelt thanks to each of them individually. These are not simple achievements; they undertook all of this for the benefit of humanity.
What is the purpose of technology at Teknofest? 'Technology Removes Barriers.' Because, in the past, things were created in such a way that some people became unable to develop, produce, or participate in society. Massive buildings without elevators or ramps became inaccessible. Without tactile features, books could not be read; without sign language support, announcements could not be understood. Workplaces were rendered unsuitable for production. Roads, parks, and open spaces were designed poorly, making it impossible to go out. Now, however, through the 'Technology Removes Barriers' approach championed by Teknofest:
