Movement to Overcome in Kütahya

The ‘Movement to Overcome' campaign, launched under the auspices of the Presidency with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, the Ministry of National Education and the Turkish Beyazay Association, was held in Kütahya.

As part of the ‘Movement to Overcome' campaign, also supported by the Kütahya Governor's Office, Kütahya Municipality, Dumlupınar University (DPÜ), the Provincial Directorates of National Education, Youth Services and Sport and Family and Social Policies, and the Federation of Amateur Sports Clubs, a group including people with disabilities gathered on Sevgi Yolu and walked to the Dumlupınar Sports Hall.

The walk was attended by Governor Şerif Yılmaz, AK Party Kütahya MPs İshak Gazel and Vural Kavuncu, Mayor Kamil Saraçoğlu, AK Party Kütahya provincial chair Ali Çetinbaş, the President of the Turkish Beyazay Association Lokman Ayva, the President of the Kütahya branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association Halil Bilgiç, Presidential Project Expert Baki İlgün, Campaign Promotion Coordinator Koray Aldemir, representatives of civil society organisations, department directors and a large number of local residents.

Speaking about the ‘Movement to Overcome' campaign, the President of the Kütahya branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association, Halil Bilgiç, said: “Today our Governor above all, our municipality, our university and all the public are here on this walk. In this programme of ours, lasting around 4 hours, there is genuinely a fine display of harmony that brings people with and without disabilities together. I thank everyone for taking part.”
