23 April, National Sovereignty and Children's Day, which Atatürk dedicated to children, was celebrated by the Turkish Beyazay Association with the participation of children with disabilities and company teams.
At the Sektörler Ligi 23 April event, the President of the Turkish Beyazay Association Lokman Ayva, Nejla Sümer, Çuhadaroğlu Holding General Manager Kenan Aracı, Panasonic Administrative Affairs Manager İlker Gügercin, Sektörler Ligi President Serdar Doğru, Erdem Gonan of Saray Çiftliği, Miraç Çam of Fenerbahçe Club, Mehmet Şarman of Bmart and TFF referee Metin Boğa were present.
The event, which began with the group matches of the Panasonic, Çuhadaroğlu Holding, Bmart, Tarkan Reklam and Yıldız Technical University teams, came alive with the arrival of the children at the facilities. Radiating joy with their smiling faces, the children changed the atmosphere in an instant and became the centre of attention for company officials and team players.
Two teams formed by the Beyazay Association from children with disabilities also played a match on the pitch, giving spectators an enjoyable time. At the end of the match, which finished in a draw, the now traditional ”Athlete of the Year Oscar” awards were presented. The awards, given on behalf of Burcu Zemin Market Board Chair Cengiz Özlü, were presented by Lokman Ayva, Nejla Sümer, Kenan Aracı, İlker Gügercin and Serdar Doğru.
The children, who cheered and danced on the pitch to the song ”Movement to Overcome” written by Lokman Ayva and performed by the famous rock singer Kıraç, joined the Saray Çiftliği sausage party at midday. Showing great interest in the Fenerbahçe stand too, the children left the facilities happily with Turkish flags after being offered sweets and chocolate.
The programme continued with closely fought matches between the teams that came through the group stage. At the end of the finals, Yıldız Technical University became the 23 April 2017 Champion, Panasonic came second and Çuhadaroğlu Holding third.
