CORRECTION

The Turkish Beyazay Association is running the “Movement to Overcome” campaign in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The aim of this campaign of ours is that, by people with and without disabilities doing sport together, prejudice and exclusion towards people with disabilities should be overcome and give way to a culture of coming together, solidarity and living together. This campaign of ours is being carried out in all our provinces. Our programme for Friday 26 February, which was postponed because of the terrorist act that took place in our Ankara on the evening of 17 February, was likewise planned as a sporting event for students with and without disabilities within the “Movement to Overcome” campaign. There was no birthday celebration, nor any event of similar content, within this activity.

We hope that expressions that have overshot their purpose, forced interpretations and accusations made against one party by way of another will be set aside at once, and that the removal of the prejudices, exclusion, humiliation and contempt that people do not deserve will become the common ground of all our press, our civil society organisations and our public.
