As part of the ‘‘Movement to Overcome’’ campaign launched by the Turkish Beyazay Association and held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, police cadets training at the Ereğli Police Vocational Training Centre did sport together with people with disabilities.
Children with disabilities played table tennis, bocce and basketball with their older police-cadet friends. The District Governor of Ereğli, the Garrison Commander, the District Gendarmerie Commander, the Ereğli District Police Chief, the Ereğli Director of National Education and the President of the Konya/Ereğli branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association, all of whom attended the event, played a football match with the special athletes as part of the campaign.
Speaking at the programme, the President of the Konya/Ereğli branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association, Vefa Demirkıran, said: ‘‘Our police and security services have been among the greatest supporters in our province of the campaign we are running under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. Today our young police colleagues and our citizens with disabilities came together here in sporting activities. I thank everyone who contributed to the event.’’
The programme ended with a commemorative photograph.
