At an event held in Düzce as part of the Movement to Overcome campaign carried out under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, children with and without disabilities spent a lovely day riding horses together at a horse farm.
The young people pushed their friends with disabilities on the swings, helped them mount the horses and played ball together. The event was also attended by AK Party Düzce MP Ayşe Keşir, AK Party provincial chair Hikmet Keskin and the President of the Düzce branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association Nurullah Çelebi.
Giving information about the aim of the project and the event, the President of the Düzce branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association, Nurullah Çelebi, said: “Our aim is to strengthen the bond between people with and without disabilities by having them do sport together. These events are held at all branches of the Turkish Beyazay Association. Through this campaign we want to remove barriers in every area of our lives.”
AK Party provincial chair Hikmet Keskin said: “Events of this kind are very important. Having a disability is not a defect, and it is something that could happen to any of us. That is why we must look after our brothers and sisters. For the sake of our future we will support programmes like this to the full.”
