As part of the “Movement to Overcome campaign” run by the Turkish Beyazay Association under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, the ‘‘Hand in Hand, All Together, Antalya Barrier-Free Athletes Festival’’, hosted by the Metropolitan Special Education School and Rehabilitation Centre, was held with the participation of children with disabilities.
Ebru Türel, wife of the Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Menderes Türel, the District Governor of Döşemealtı Mehmet Baygül, Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Abdurrahman Yılmaz, Provincial Director of National Education Hasan Tevke, the President of the Antalya branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association Ayşe Güliz Yılman, officials, children with disabilities and their families took part.
At the festival the pupils competed in disciplines including tennis, basketball, football, aerobics, gymnastics, tug of war, sack races and table tennis.
Activities performed by the pupils at the festival, such as folk dances, music, step and poetry recitals, were watched with appreciation.
