As part of the “Movement to Overcome” campaign launched by the Turkish Beyazay Association and taken under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, the launch programme of the “The Two of Us Are One Sapling” project — run jointly by the Turkish Beyazay Association, the Çekmeköy District Governor's Office, Çekmeköy Municipality and the Çekmeköy District Directorate of National Education — was held at Çekmeköy Özden Cengiz Anatolian High School.
The programme was attended by former Minister of National Education Nimet Baş, Şeyma Şahin, wife of the Governor of Istanbul Vasip Şahin, the President of the Turkish Beyazay Association Lokman Ayva, the District Governor of Çekmeköy Cemal Hüsnü Kansız, Deputy Mayor of Çekmeköy Şahmettin Yüksel, District Director of National Education Ahmet Aktaş and many guests.
After the official speeches, the children with and without disabilities taking part in the project sang together and received the saplings prepared for them.
The project aims to help pupils bond with one another and get to know each other better.
