He Became a Dairy Farm Owner with İŞKUR Support

The Turkish Beyazay Association continues to serve people with disabilities and their families through its branches at home and abroad.

Ali Kulplu, who is blind and lives in the village of Çarıklı in Niğde, wanted to set up his own business rather than receive a disability allowance, and took action. Writing a project proposal to İŞKUR with the support of the Niğde branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association, Ali Kulplu managed to set up his own business before long. Kulplu, who enjoys working with livestock, achieved the animal farm he had dreamed of thanks to the Niğde branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association and İŞKUR.

Ali Kulplu said: ‘‘I did not want to sit at home doing nothing. I wanted to set up my own business and, with İŞKUR's support too, I set up my own dairy. Now I sell milk to the companies operating here, and soon I plan to employ a few friends from the village as well.’’

The President of the Turkish Beyazay Association, Lokman Ayva, said: ‘‘Having a disability is no barrier to producing and working. Wherever it may be — village, city or country makes no difference — if intentions are set on working, no barrier remains in the way. We must contribute to production regardless of disability. People with disabilities are as productive as people without disabilities, and they will continue to be so.’’
