As part of the “Movement to Overcome” campaign launched by the Turkish Beyazay Association and organised under the auspices of the Presidency, an event was held at Seka Park in Kocaeli.
The programme, hosted by the Kocaeli branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association, was attended by the Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, the President of the Turkish Beyazay Association Lokman Ayva, the President of the Kocaeli branch Furkan Eşitti, civil society organisations and a large number of students with and without disabilities.
The President of the Turkish Beyazay Association, Lokman Ayva, said: ‘‘Through these events people will have the chance to get to know one another better. They will understand each other and become aware of their own qualities. They will learn how to communicate with people with disabilities. As a result they will come to understand one another and prejudices will gradually disappear.’’
