Beyond Türkiye, the Turkish Beyazay Association continues to provide services for people with disabilities in other countries as well.
After the ‘‘Türkiye–North Macedonia Disability Friendship Day’’ held in North Macedonia on 19–22 November, this time it was with Syrians with disabilities.
A delegation from the Turkish Beyazay Association and İHH (the Humanitarian Relief Foundation) visited the camps in Kilis, Reyhanlı and Syria in turn, and was briefed on the situation in the region. They held private meetings with children and adults who had acquired disabilities because of the war in their country.
The President of the Turkish Beyazay Association, Lokman AYVA, said: ‘‘Because of the war in Syria, many of our Syrian brothers and sisters and children are sadly living with disabilities. In the war some lost an eye, some a leg, some an arm. Our aim will be to develop projects that include the people with disabilities here as well, and to bring them into life.’’
Gifts brought from Türkiye were also distributed during the visits.
