As part of the Movement to Overcome campaign held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sport, Spor A.Ş., the Istanbul Directorate for People with Disabilities (İSEM) and the Turkish Beyazay Association organised a kite and sports festival especially for Hearing Impairment Week.
AK Party Istanbul MP Mihrimah Belma Satır, Deputy Secretary General of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Nihat Macit, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Director of Youth and Sport Ayhan Kep, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Director for People with Disabilities Yeliz Yıldız Kökenek, the President of the Turkish Beyazay Association Lokman Ayva and a large number of people with disabilities and their families took part.
At the sports festival, people with and without disabilities worked up a sweat together at football, basketball, darts and a climbing course. Excitement peaked in the cycling and athletics competitions held at the festival.
The programme ended with a kite display and a commemorative photograph.
