At the iftar programme held in the historic Inner Castle by the Diyarbakır branch of the Turkish Beyazay Association, 350 women affected by the terrorist attacks in the Sur district came together.
Speaking at the programme, the Governor of Diyarbakır Hüseyin Aksoy noted that citizens had suffered because of the acts of terrorism experienced recently in the Sur district and said: ” The state has mobilised all its institutions to put right this suffering.”
Noting that Diyarbakır is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, the President of the Turkish Beyazay Association Lokman Ayva said: ” We welcome everyone to Diyarbakır. We continue to come together shoulder to shoulder in this atmosphere of brotherhood and friendship. Just as Diyarbakır's values from the past embraced everyone without distinction of race, religion or language, so it continues today. Diyarbakır is a place everyone can come to and where everyone will feel at home.”
The programme ended after a prayer was recited.
