Movement to Overcome

Adding yet another initiative to the projects and campaigns it runs to remove barriers in every area of life — from education to employment, from sport to health — the Turkish Beyazay Association has launched a new campaign to break down barriers.

With 72 branches at home and 7 abroad, the Turkish Beyazay Association has so far served many people with disabilities and their families in Türkiye and around the world, and is now launching another campaign that will operate nationally under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.

The goals of the Movement to Overcome campaign, launched by the Turkish Beyazay Association under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and delivered with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, are:

To bring people with and without disabilities together, and to have 100,000 people with disabilities and 100,000 people without disabilities take part in sport together. Through this campaign, which will break down “barriers” in every sense, the social integration of our citizens with and without disabilities will grow stronger, living standards will improve, and people with disabilities will be kept at the centre of society and in the midst of life rather than being allowed to drift away from it…

WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT, WE ARE ALL HUMAN

People with and without disabilities will be brought together through organised events and enabled to take part in regular sport together, and a “Sports Training Programme” built around movement, games and sporting activities will be delivered to people with disabilities. During the programme, children and young people with disabilities will be guided towards sporting disciplines in line with their abilities and channelled into the relevant fields according to their basic technique and skills.

THERE IS NO BARRIER TO LIVING TOGETHER

As part of the campaign, the sports instructors who will deliver the training programme will receive special training before taking up their roles in the “Movement to Overcome” campaign.

People without disabilities will also be briefed beforehand on taking part in sport alongside people with disabilities.

Institutions and companies with large workforces will be approached so that their employees can join the campaign. In this way, even though the bodies taking part in sport may differ, spirits, aims and hearts will be “AS ONE”…

TOGETHERNESS THROUGH SPORT

Through this campaign, movement, the excitement of sport, togetherness and the self-confidence that games bring will shine a light on abilities our citizens with disabilities have never had the chance to use, will make their belief in success and their love of sport shine like the sun, and will further increase their motivation for life.
